Spherical ceramic foundry sand Features
Cearmsite sand is Spherical ceramic foundry sand. It has the following application advantages due to its excellent thermal Features:
- High refractoriness, which is especially suitable for casting alloy steel, stainless steel and other alloys with high pouring temperature. It can reduce the tendency of sand sticking caused by core sand sintering;
- The thermal expansion coefficient is low, and the thermal expansion curve shows obvious linear growth, without phase change expansion, which can reduce or eliminate the casting expansion defects;
- Spherical ceramic foundry sand has high thermal conductivity, large specific heat capacity and high density, which makes its heat storage coefficient relatively large, which is conducive to accelerating the solidification speed of castings and obtaining high-quality castings with dense microstructure;
- It is stable at high temperature, not wetted by molten metal, not easy to produce chemical sand adhesion, and can improve the surface quality of castings.
In addition to its excellent physical and chemical properties, spherical foundry sand ceramsite also has thermal properties that are particularly conducive to casting production.
The following table shows the comparison of thermal properties between ceramsite sand and other common special sand and silica sand.
