Foundry Ceramic sand Density

Foundry Ceramic sand is a casting sand material based on aluminum oxide. It is spherical casting sand made by melting calcined bauxite. After high-temperature melting, ceramic sand still maintains a high density and specific gravity, with a specific gravity of 3.4g/cm3 for ceramic sand with a 70-72% alumina content. After making spherical particles, due to the presence of a large number of pores between the particles, the stacking density of ceramic sand ranges from 1.95 to 2.05g/cm3, and varies depending on the particle size. High-density casting sand, especially spherical sand, is beneficial for filling the mold cavity with molding sand.
